Young Adults
Today we are here to talk to you guys about the logical fallacy known as False Cause and Effect. This fallacy by definition is when
two things happen at the same time but they are irrelevant and the first thing that happens leads the second thing to happen. For example: Assuming that because B comes after A, A caused B.( In other words just because something happens doesn't mean it caused the other to occur.) This logical fallacy is very important, not only to young adults that are going to be voting in a few years but adults that are already voting. Young adults need to know what type of fallacies are being given to them in speeches made by the President of the United States or on a television commercial. The importance of this website is to teach young adults to watch out for the logical fallacy known as False Cause and Effect. You need to know that not just because two things happen at the same thing the first thing caused the next to happen.
Logical fallacies get used everyday including false cause and effect. On February the 20th a five year old used false cause and effect. The little girl asked her mom "Can we get strawberries?" Her mom's reply was 'No' then the little girl said "But if I don't eat strawberries my stomach is going to hurt. The five year old manipulated her mom to buy her the strawberries that she wanted. The false cause and effect in this sentence is that the girl is saying that if she doesn't eat the strawberries then her stomach is going to hurt. If a five year old can use false cause and effect without even knowing what it is, can you imagine what an adult can use it for. They can convince the voters to vote for something that is irrelevant to what they are suppose to do. Young adults you need to to know that the logical fallacy known as false cause and effect is important. When a candidate running for Presidents gives a speech and says "If I was President of the United States I would clean the city." The false cause and effect in this sentence is that when he says " if I was President I would clean up the city," just because he's going to be a President doesn't necessary mean that the city is going to be clean(the presidential election isn't going to c
Young adults you have to be very careful when voting for someone or something. Look for the logical fallacies and don't be fooled by speeches and commercials.
